"Cachuma Star"
bd Dombrowsky
Oil on Canvas
12" X 12"
2007
This is one of the first landscapes I ever bought. People often ask me the significance of the pentagram in the center. The artist told me after he finished the painting, a piece of paper cut out in a star shape fell off a shelf and landed in the center of the artwork. He liked the way it looked and decided to paint the star in the painting.
I think the star dates the painting. There are no people or structures in the art, but the star makes you think it was painted in Medieval times.
